Ever since I started this writing, training and teaching journey myself I have looked at and tried all kinds of different platforms for being able to publish my content, courses, books and provide training.
Originally I started with Amazon – then Udemy (both of which I still use!) and along the way researched most of the others that have come along. They all have pros and cons and most have a place for some people.
The catch is to find the things that work better for a given person at a given time and are in alignment with their objectives – and that are affordable.
I believe I now have it pretty well dialed in as to what works better for me and for my students and readers – and we still use a lot of things. Here is a partial list of the key platforms, apps and resources we are using now;
- Amazon – publication of most of my books, both non fiction and fiction
- Mimeo – publication of our Training Manuals and related training materials
- Udemy – publication and hosting for many of our introductory and basic to intermediate courses
- Skillshare – publication and hosing for some of our courses
- Skool – This is becoming our MAIN TRAINING CENTER and our primary community
- Facebook – Main profile, multiple pages and several groups – intended mainly to introduce and route people HERE
- Substack – several different topics to grow readership, attract readers and future students and route them all here too
- Medium – help build an audience and disseminate information on a wider scale
- YouTube – Multiple channels, niche providing free information and content and to help route readers, viewers and students HERE
While there are a few other things I am using – this is the majority of the platforms and services I am using to run my own Publishing and Training business – and what I use to publish all of my books and courses.
Skool is NOT anywhere near finished yet – I am just beginning to build it out – but if you are the curious type, then come on in and help build it with me – here is the door L.D. Sewell Training Center/Skool
